When we arrive

Four of the team will leave from Toronto and meat up with Peg in Lisbon, then fly on into Porto on the 20th.  We will stay in Porto until the 23 to give time to get acclimatized and explore Porto then begin the walk .  While there I will be watching to see if the waves are coming in .. Just south of Porto are the largest waves in the world .. They hit the shore at 80 feet high ..

waves at the  light house is in Porto               but one hour south are the real waves

This  has been on my bucket list for a long time. We have a nice Airbnb centrally located , on the water.

Looking back

Looking back at some photos from 2015, when Julie and Acel made it to Finisterre and completed the Camino.

Plans are coming together.

On March 19, Julie and three of her lady friends will embark on the Portuguese Camino from Porto to Santiago de Compostela, but with a twist.  John will be  traveling with them. They will have a support car, and will be staying in VRBO's and Airbnb's along the way rather then in hostels.  Each morning they will be dropped where they ended the previous day.  While they walk, John will prepare meals etc., and maybe fit in a little fishing.  Using GPS tracking, they can be picked up at any point along the way. The walk will be approx.. 250km in the first 2 weeks, then a few days along the coast between Fisterra and  Muxia in Galacia before returning to Porto and home.  John and Julie will fly directly to Kyrgyzstan from there.
